About

My artistic process begins with material — whether hair, threads, found objects, or remnants of lived experience — and unfolds through slow, repetitive, often meditative methods of making. I am drawn to materials that carry traces of the body or memory, materials that are culturally coded, emotionally charged, or socially regulated. These become the foundation for works that reveal tensions between intimacy and exposure, silence and expression, conformity and autonomy.

Beyond the object itself, I am interested in how artworks occupy space and how viewers move around them, confronting questions of distance, access, and vulnerability. Many of my works invite close looking — smaller details are discovered through patient attention, mirroring the slow labour of their construction.

My research intersects with feminist thought, Iranian material culture, and embodied knowledge. Through both academic inquiry and lived experience, I seek to challenge dominant narratives of representation, especially those imposed on women’s bodies, cultural identity, and forms of belonging.

I welcome opportunities for collaboration, mentorship, exhibition, and conversation.
